7 Steps to Write Great Articles
As an entrepreneur, you find yourself having to write more and more? You've probably heard that you should be writing articles to promote your business (and it's a great, no cost way to promote!), But may be leery of starting. Here are 7 tips to write effective articles.
1. Choose a good topic.
It makes no sense to write an article if you do not want to read. Before launching into an article, think about your target market and what are their wants and needs are. If you're not sure, go hang out in some forums and see what they are discussing.
If you write for an audience larger than your target market, I suggest you visit some article directories, for example http://www.ezinearticles.com) to see what hot topics are.
2. Choose your title wisely.
After writing a good article by strong, do not spoil by giving it a weak title. The title is the title - this is the first thing people will read and, in this day of instant decision-making process, could easily turn people away unless they are hooked.
3. Think bite-size.
The online readers have little patience for long sections, in order to break your article into different sections. Notice how this article is divided into small sections with subtitles. It 's easier for your reader to digest.
4. Writing for the public, not for yourself.
If you want people to read your article, write in a way that is easy for your readers to understand - do not use acronyms without explaining them, keep the techno jargon unless you are writing for an audience that understands and maintain The simple vocabulary. It makes no sense to write an article if anyone is going to understand it.
5. Read, read and reread.
You MUST review your work. Not once, go do something else and then do it again. If possible, ask someone else to read for you - without doubt take the things you lack.
6. Tell them who you are.
You want your readers to know who you are and how to reach you. Include a resource box at the very end so potential customers and other e-zine publishers know how to contact you. You want to visit your web site to learn more about yourself and what you do.
7. Get it out there.
Now that you've done all the work to write a great article, packs in pieces, read and write an interesting resource box, you need to get your article out there. I recommend Ezine Articles (www.ezinearticles.com) once again Send your article as well (www.submityourarticle.com) as a major article directories to submit your article to. If you prefer to build relationships with e-zine publishers personally, so I recommend to the Director of Ezines Charlie Page http://www.directoryofezines.com for a wealth of information about e-zine publishers.
So what are you waiting for? Get writing! ......
