What does RSS stand and how it works?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Syndication, in this case, means republishing an article that comes from another source such as a website or blog and the 'part really simple' is self-explanatory.

RSS is a very useful tool. It 's also a versatile it can benefit not only the site that produces the feed, but also other sites (that use it) and - we must not forget - Mr. and Mrs. Joe Public.

How RSS advantage of the site that produced it?

One of the main advantages is that RSS is a great way to advertise all the updates and new content that has been added to a website or blog. Subscribers to the site feed are obviously interested in what's happening on the site or would not have subscribed to the feed in the first place, and once you have signed the information is there for them. The site is updated, the feed is updated and all stakeholders, be they readers or potential customers, are also updated. The information comes where you need it and it's all very simple.

Usually the food contains a link to the source site as well. It is not the home is, but for new content that power problems. If the new content of the site is a review of the recent book on the best seller then this is where the link leads and is very easy for the person reading the feed to find out everything. Sometimes the feed will contain the full review (or other content), but often it is just a taste, which, hopefully, to wet the appetite of the reader and encourage them to visit the site, which is probably where the webmaster wants to be anyway.

As advantage of RSS subscribers?

We benefit in many ways.

1. As already mentioned, it provides them with the latest updates as they come.

2. It saves time navigation. Since the RSS feed provides a summary of the relevant article, it saves time user, helping them to decide on items to prioritize when reading or browsing the net.

3. It gives the power-user subscription and this is where RSS has a real advantage over a more traditional mailing list. Users are given a free hand to the sites you subscribe to their RSS aggregators. They do not need to provide an email address or any information at all to the place where food originates. This is an anonymous reader and can unsubscribe at any time they want to. Many people prefer this way because too often, giving out an email address can be an open invitation to spam and no one likes spam.

4. Decrease the clutter in your inbox. Even if your e-mail will be required to use the services of online RSS aggregators, RSS does not use your email address to send updates.

RSS How to benefit from other sites?

If the site has produced an RSS feed allows them to be used as content for other sites, then it can be a win-win situation, because if their power is used to feed other sites probably generate additional traffic for the site of origin. And every time that changes in diet that will provide fresh content for all sites and all that are using it, which in turn, will keep search engines interested in these sites because they will have regular new content on their pages . If you ever wondered how to get automatically updated content on your site, then RSS is probably the easy answer.

RSS: the nuts and bolts.

On most of the blog's RSS feed is automatically produces an. Xml and then the average blogger does not have to even think about it. For the blogger is really easy and there are doubts. For a website even though it may be a bit 'more complicated and that is why there are so many sites that produce the feed.

If a webmaster wants to generate a feed for their site, the easiest way would be to use the services of a third, but often webmasters will have to pay for services, or to put up with advertisements for third parties added to their feed.

Another way to generate a feed is to buy a software that generates the feed for you and there are also freeware available power generators, but not all work well as they should do.

An alternative is to write the final feed yourself and this is what I do for some of my sites. It is easy to learn to do it, but once you have your base. Xml file is just a case of updating it every time you update your site. The feed can be created in notepad and then saved as. Xml instead of. Txt

Unfortunately, it would take too long for me to explain the best way to do it, but if this is the path you want to go I would suggest you get hold of feed from another site and then use it as a model. The easiest way, however, will probably use a third-party service to generate the feed. Try doing a search on Google for 'RSS feed generators.' ......
